There has been no argument. No break-up. Nothing serious. Just evenings that all look alike: dinner eaten quickly, the television switched on automatically, two phones on the table, each person absorbed in a feed. You are together, yet somehow elsewhere.
The conversations gradually changed. Who is collecting the children. What is left to eat. What still needs doing. Necessary things that have taken up all the space, until you can barely remember the last time you talked simply for the pleasure of talking.
There is nothing to fix. Sometimes one night away from obligations, with no schedule to keep, is enough to remember what it feels like to be fully together.

14 February comes once a year, and La Duchesse 1976 welcomes only one couple at a time. Once the date is booked, there is no second identical suite behind another door.

La Duchesse 1976,
the setting for your Valentine’s Day.
Your evening unfolds in a 50 m² suite reserved entirely for the two of you, with a lounge, king-size bed, equipped kitchen and hot tub available throughout your stay.
Self check-in lets you arrive from 6 pm without visiting a reception desk. Vernon, the Seine and Giverny provide the surrounding scenery; once the door closes, you simply choose your own pace.

Can you prepare a Valentine’s Day surprise?
Yes. Contact us before arrival to discuss what can be prepared: romantic decoration, champagne, a personalised message or your own idea.
Can we come on a day other than 14 February?

Can we give a Valentine’s Day stay as a gift?

How do we reach Vernon from Paris?
The fastest direct trains connect Paris Saint-Lazare with Vernon–Giverny in under one hour. By car, allow around 1 hour 15 minutes via the A13, depending on traffic.
